How can AI support learning while keeping learners actively involved in their own thinking?

I investigate how AI tools shape students’ agency and metacognition, including the risks of cognitive offloading. I am interested in the gap between feeling in control of a task and actively directing the learning process.

My broader interests include the risks and benefits of AI across educational contexts and the design and evaluation of technology-enhanced learning environments.

I hold an MPhil in Education from the University of Cambridge and a BA in Politics from the University of Essex.
